Η ομάδα χορού Landscape, ιδρύθηκε την άνοιξη του 2002 από την χορογράφο Ιωάννα Πάραλη.
Στοχεύει σε ένα κύκλο δημιουργίας, που χρησιμοποιεί το χορό και το σώμα ως κεντρικά στοιχεία
Η δουλειά της χαρακτηρίζεται από τη συνεχή ενασχόληση με θέματα που αφορούν στον άνθρωπο και στο περιβάλλον.
Άμεσος στόχος της ομάδας, είναι η συνεργασία της με άλλες μορφές τέχνης, δημιουργώντας εναλλακτικά και πρωτοποριακά θεάματα όπως εγκαταστάσεις, δρώμενα, videoart.
Με άξονες τη μουσική, την κίνηση και τον περιβάλλοντα χώρο, η δημιουργός δεν επιδιώκει να εντάξει τα έργα της σε μια συγκεκριμένη τεχνική ή κάποιο σύστημα σύγχρονου χορού. Αντ’ αυτού, επιθυμεί να παραδώσει έργα, άλλοτε εξαιρετικά οργανωμένα με μετρημένες, σχεδόν μηχανικές κινήσεις και σχήματα στο χώρο κι άλλοτε κινητικές απεικονίσεις συναισθημάτων, που φιλοδοξούν να ανοίξουν ένα διάλογο ανάμεσα στο βιωματικό λεξιλόγιο των ερμηνευτών και το περιβάλλον που τις φιλοξενεί.
Οι παραγωγές της έχουν παρουσιαστεί, στην Γερμανία, Κύπρο, Ιταλία και Ελλάδα.
Η ομάδα επιχορηγήθηκε από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού, από το 2004 έως και το 2008.

Landscape dance company was founded by the choreographer Ioanna Parali, in the spring of 2002.
The company aims to a circle of creation which uses as main elements the dance and the body.
Its work is characterized by the continuous avocation with subjects concerning the Man and the Environment.
Direct objective of the company, is its collaboration with other forms of art, creating alternative and pioneering spectacles as installations, events, videoart.
With axes the music, the movement and the precinct, the author does not seek to conform her work in a concrete technique or some system of contemporary dance. Instead of that, she wishes to deliver choreographies, sometimes exceptionally organised with measured, almost mechanic movements and forms in the space and other times kinetic depictions of sentiments that aspire to open a dialogue between the experiential vocabulary of the performers and the environment that hosts them.
The productions of the company have been presented in Germany, Italy, Cyprus and Greece.
The company was founded by the Greek Ministry of Culture from 2004 to 2008.

Ιωάννα Πάραλη

Η Ιωάννα Πάραλη γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1970.
Από μικρή ηλικία, παρακολουθεί μαθήματα κλασσικού μπαλέτου και σύγχρονου χορού στις σχολές Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης, Γιάννης Μέτσης, Άννα Πέτροβα, Ραλλού Μάνου, Αλέκα Μπερτόλη.
Το 1994, ολοκληρώνει τις σπουδές της στην Ανώτερη Επαγγελματική Σχολή Χορού, Κέντρο Παραστατικών Τεχνών.
Το 1996 συνεχίζει την μεταπτυχιακή της επιμόρφωση στο Παρίσι.
Εκπαιδεύεται σε διαφορετικές τεχνικές σύγχρονου χορού και παρακολουθεί σεμινάρια με καταξιωμένες προσωπικότητες, στον τομέα του σύγχρονου χορού και της χορογραφίας, στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
Το 1997 κάνει την πρώτη της χορογραφική απόπειρα, ως ιδρυτικό μέλος της Ομάδας Σύγχρονου Χορού "Αιώρηση", στην οποία χορογραφεί και χορεύει έως το 2001.
Από το 1998 έως το 2001 συνεργάζεται επίσης, ως βοηθός χορογράφου, με το Μικρό Χορευτικό Θέατρο της Λίας Μελετοπούλου για τις παραγωγές Κλυταιμνήστρα (Αρχαίο Θέατρο Δελφών και Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Χορού Καλαμάτας), Περσεφόνη (Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών) καθώς και στην συμπαραγωγή με την ομάδα του Charles Cre-Ange (Εργοστάσιο)-Αθήνα.
Το 2004,συνεργάζεται με το Χοροθέαμα ΚΙΝΗΤΗΡΑΣ, για παραγωγές, οι οποίες παρουσιάστηκαν κατά την διάρκεια των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Πολιτισμός ΑΘΗΝΑ 2004.
Ως χορεύτρια παίρνει μέρος στην ταινία Ακροπόλ του Παντελή Βούλγαρη, στην ταινία Καβάφης του Γιάννη Σμαραγδή, στα Τρία μικρά μιούζικαλς σε σκηνοθεσία Θωμά Μοσχόπουλου, στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, στις Φωνές Γυναικών με την θεατρική ομάδα Πολυθέαμα, που περιοδεύει στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό καθώς και στο Διγενή Ακρίτα σε σκηνοθεσία Ν. Κούνδουρου στο Θέατρο Ηρώδου του Αττικού. Χορεύει με τις ομάδες Σύγχρονη Χορευτική Έκφραση, Southeastern Dance Company, Εκτός Βάρους, Ανδρομέδα, Μάγμα, Α ΚΙΝ.
Το 2002, ιδρύει την ομάδα χορού Landscape στην οποία είναι καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια και χορογραφεί το σύνολο των παραγωγών της ως σήμερα.
Με άξονες τη μουσική, την κίνηση και τον περιβάλλοντα χώρο, η δημιουργός δεν επιδιώκει να εντάξει τα έργα της σε μια συγκεκριμένη τεχνική ή κάποιο σύστημα σύγχρονου χορού. Αντ’ αυτού, επιθυμεί να παραδώσει έργα, άλλοτε εξαιρετικά οργανωμένα με μετρημένες, σχεδόν μηχανικές κινήσεις και σχήματα στο χώρο κι άλλοτε κινητικές απεικονίσεις συναισθημάτων, που φιλοδοξούν να ανοίξουν ένα διάλογο ανάμεσα στο βιωματικό λεξιλόγιο των ερμηνευτών και το περιβάλλον που τις φιλοξενεί.
Έχει επιλεχτεί να παρουσιάσει τη δουλειά της μεταξύ άλλων και στο 7th Internationales Solo Tanz Theatre Festival, Treffpunkt Rotebühlplatz (Γερμανία), στο 9ο Ευρωπαϊκό Φεστιβάλ Σύγχρονου Χορού στην Κύπρο, στο 1ο και 6ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Χορού Αθήνας στην ΤΕΧΝΟΠΟΛΙΣ, στην 2η και 3η Πλατφόρμα Σύγχρονου Χορού στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, στην Danza in Fiera 2007 στη Φλωρεντία και στο 3rd International Choreography Competition in Ludwigshafen 2008-No Ballet στη Γερμανία.
Το Σεπτέμβριο του 2006, σε συνεργασία με την εταιρεία “Stilvi Ltd”, δημιουργεί μια performance σε μορφή υβριδικής τέχνης, με τίτλο “7 thoughts on blindness”. Η performance παρουσιάζεται στην τελετή έναρξης του διεθνούς συνεδρίου της Διεθνούς Επιτροπής Φωτισμού, «Νυχτερινό αστικό τοπίο 2006», στο κέντρο Γαία του Μουσείου Φυσικής Ιστορίας Γουλανδρή, υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Τουριστικής Ανάπτυξης.
Διδάσκει κλασσικό και σύγχρονο χορό από το 1996, στο Κέντρο Μελέτης Χορού Ισιδώρας & Ραυμόνδου Ντάνκαν, στη σχολές Ραλλού Μάνου, Christina Brinkman, Αλέκα Μπερτόλη κ.α.

Ioanna Parali

Ioanna Parali was born in Athens Greece, in 1970.
From young age she follows courses of classic ballet and contemporary dance in the schools, State Dance School, Yiannis Metsis, Anna Petrova, Rallou Manou, Aleka Bertoli.
In 1994 she graduates from The Higher Professional Dance School Centre of Expressive Arts.
In 1996, she continues her postgraduate training in Paris.
She is educated in different techniques of contemporary dance and follows seminars with valorised personalities, in the sector of contemporary dance and choreography, in Greece and abroad.
In 1997, she makes her first choreographic attempt as a founding member of the contemporary dance company “Aeorisi”, with which she performs and presents her choreographies until 2001.
She collaborates as assistant choreographer from 1998 until 2001, for the Lia’s Meletopoulou company, Small Dance Theatre, for the productions Clytemnestra – Delphi Ancient Theatre and Kalamata International Dance Festival, Persephone – Athens Concert Hall and in a co production with the Charles CreAnge dance company. In 2004, she collaborates with Kinitiras Dance Spectacle, for two productions, which were presented in the framework of ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games Cultural Program
As a dancer she takes part in the film Akropol , direction Pantelis Voulgaris, in the Three small musicals ,direction Thomas Moschopoulos, in the Athens Concert Hall, in the Voices of Women with the theatrical team Polytheama, that tours in Greece and abroad as well as in Digenis Akritas , direction N. Koundouros in the Irodou Attikou theatre,Athens. She dances for the companies Modern Dancing Expression, Southeastern Dance Company, Ektos Varous, Andromeda, Magma, A KIN.
In 2002, she founds Landscape Dance Company of which is artistic director and for which she choreographs the total of its’ productions until now.

She was selected to present her work in the 7th Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival, Treffpunkt Rotebühlplatz (Germany), in the 9th European Festival of Contemporary dance in Cyprus, in the 1st and 6th Athens International Dance Festival in TECHNOPOLIS, in the 2nd and 3rd Contemporary Dance Platform in the Athens Concert Hall, in Danza in Fiera 2007 in Florence Italy and in the 3rd International Choreography Competition in Ludwigshafen 2008-No Ballet in Germany.
In the September of 2006 the company presents a performance in hybrid form of art, entitled 7 thoughts on blindness. The performance is presented at the opening ceremony of the International Congress of the International Lighting Commission, “Urban Nightscape 2006”, in the “Gaia” centre of the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, under the auspices of Ministry of Tourism of Greece.
She is teaching dance since 1996 in the Isadora Duncan Dance Research Center in Athens, and in the dance schools Rallou Manou, Christina Brinkman, Aleka Bertoli etc.

INHALE-Visual art performance - 2008

Από διαφορετικά σημεία εκκίνησης, δύο Ελληνίδες δημιουργοί αναχωρούν προς κοινό προορισμό και παραδίδουν το αποτέλεσμα της δημιουργικής τους σύμπραξης με τη μορφή της visual art performance. Εντοπίζοντας από κοινού στη λειτουργία της αναπνοής, η χορογράφος Ιωάννα Πάραλη και η εικαστικός Δανάη Στράτου, προσκαλούν το θεατή να βιώσει μια εικαστική-παραστατική πράξη με τρόπο έντονα αισθητηριακό.
Στο Inhale, οι δύο δημιουργοί,επιχειρούν μια προσέγγιση όπου το εικαστικό περιβάλλον της μίας γίνεται ο τόπος δράσης της άλλης. Με τη συνέργια της ερμηνεύτριας Μαρκέλλας Μανωλιάδη, αλλά και μιας ομάδας συνεργατών που έχουν θέσει εαυτούς στην υπηρεσία της υλοποίησης του project, Πάραλη και Στράτου εξερευνούν τα όρια στη σχέση που αναπτύσσει ο άνθρωπος με το περιβάλλον με βασικό φίλτρο την πράξη της αναπνοής. Το ανθρώπινο σώμα εδώ, λειτουργεί ως φορέας ενός χώρου οργανικού, μέσα στον οποίο δρα αναδομώντας τον και δίνοντας του διαφορετικό νόημα. Έτσι, η κίνηση, απογυμνωμένη από την επιτήδευση του έντεχνου χορού, μετατρέπεται σε αφετηρία για μια νέα ανάγνωση του εικαστικού υλικού.

INHALE-Visual Art Performance-2008

From different points of departure, two Greeks authors leave to common destination and deliver the result of their creative cooperation with the form visual art performance. Locating jointly in the operation of breathing, the choreographer Ioanna Parali and the visual artist Danae Stratou, they invite the spectator to experience a figurative-descriptive action with a sensual way.
In Inhale, the two authors, attempt a approach where the figurative environment of one becomes the place of action of other. With the synergy, of the performer Markella Manoliadis and a team of collaborators that have placed self in the service of concretisation of the project, Parali and Stratou, explore the limits in the relation that develops the person with the environment with basic filter the action of breathing. The human body here, functions as institution of an organic space, in which acts, restructuring it and giving it a different meaning. Thus, the movement, denuded by the sophistication of skilful dance, is changed in a starting line for a new reading of the figurative material.

Mind the Gap – 2007-2008

Με το έργο Mind the Gap, η ομάδα διαχειρίζεται εγκεφαλικές πληροφορίες και με άξονες τη μουσική, την κίνηση και τον περιβάλλοντα χώρο δημιουργεί εικόνες-καταστάσεις μέσα από τις οποίες επιδιώκει να δώσει στο κοινό το έναυσμα να διευρύνει τη σκέψη του πάνω στις λειτουργίες του σημαντικού αυτού οργάνου του ανθρώπινου σώματος. Τον εγκέφαλο.

Με αφορμή τον καταστροφικό σεισμό και το φαινόμενο tsunami που ακολούθησε, προκαλώντας μεγάλες απώλειες σε ζωές και περιουσίες στη Νοτιοανατολική Ασία η ομάδα, βασίζοντας τη θεματολογία της πάντα, στη σχέση του ανθρώπου με το περιβάλλον αποφάσισε να αγγίξει ένα θέμα που συγκλόνισε όλη την υφήλιο. Με «όργανα» το ανθρώπινο σώμα και τη μουσική σύνθεση του Νίκου Βασιλείου, η ομάδα παρουσιάζει τη γένεση και την εξέλιξη αυτού του καταστροφικού φυσικού φαινόμενου και τα αποτελέσματα που επιφέρει, στον άνθρωπο και στο περιβάλλον. Το Missing People είναι ένας φόρος τιμής στη Γη που αλλάζει και στους ανθρώπους που δεν θεωρούνται πλέον αγνοούμενοι…

“… Certain whales in Indian Ocean, heard the Earth “crying”…” Two hardly days before the big earthquake in the South-eastern Asia, round the 50 whales “committed suicide”, coming out in shallow the coasts of Australia. [Bombay Post]
On the occasion of the devastating earthquake and the phenomenon tsunami that followed, causing big losses in lives and fortunes in South-eastern Asia the company, basing its works always, on the relation of person with the environment, decided to touch upon a subject that convulsed the whole world.
Using as instruments the human body and the musical composition of Nikos Vassiliou, the company presents the genesis and the development of this devastating natural phenomenon and the results that it involves, in the human and in the environment.
Missing People is homage in the Earth that changes and in the persons that are not considered more missing…

Ανθρώπινο Τοπίο – 2003-2004

Η χορογραφία εξελίσσεται σε ένα τοπίο που κινείται, αποκρυπτογραφώντας την τροχιά της ζωής του ανθρώπου/χορευτή, η οποία συχνά εμποδίζεται από απρόσμενες αναταράξεις. Πάντα όμως υπάρχει η είσοδος και η έξοδος στο “τοπίο”/χώρο και μεταφορικά στην “κατάσταση των πραγμάτων”, που διαμορφώνουν και διαφοροποιούν τις εικόνες στο τοπίο της ψυχής του ανθρώπου.

Human Landscape – 2003-2004

In a moving landscape, it is decoded the man’s/dancer’s course of life, which is impeded many times by unexpected agitations. However, there is always the entrance and the exit to the “landscape”/space and metaphorically to the “state of things”, which shape and diversify the images at the “landscape” of the human soul.

Θέση για Δύο-2002

Το Θέση για Δύο είναι μία άποψη της καθημερινής πραγματικότητας που όλοι βιώνουμε με κάθε τρόπο στον σύγχρονο τρόπο ζωής του ανταγωνισμού και της κυνικότητας.
Σκηνικό μια πολυθρόνα που ορίζει τη θέση.Τη θέση που διεκδικείται από δύο,συχνά όμως από πολλούς.
Ελιγμοί ,αιωρήσεις και μετέωρα βήματα μπροστά στην αβεβαιότητα για το αν θα πετύχεις τον στόχο. “Να πάρεις τη θέση”.

Place for Two is an aspect of the daily reality that we all live by all means, in the contemporary way of living, of cynicism and rivality
Set, an arm chair, which defines the “place». The “place”, which is now claimed by two (duet), but most frequently, by many.
